7.1.21TruStone Financial Foundation Awards $15,000 in Scholarships

PLYMOUTH, Minn. (June 30, 2021) - The TruStone Financial Foundation recently awarded $15,000 in scholarships to 12 high school seniors from Minnesota and Wisconsin who are members of the credit union. Ten students received a $1,000 scholarship, while the two students with the highest scores on their scholarship applications received $2,500. The applicants were scored on their academic merit, extracurricular activities, work experience and an essay response regarding financial management.

"It's an honor to be able to support local students and TruStone members with this scholarship every year," says Sam Stern, Chairman of the TruStone Financial Foundation. "These students have proven to have a strong work ethic, dedication to their academics, and commitment to financial responsibility. On behalf of the Foundation, I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors and am confident they will succeed."

One of the $2,500 scholarship recipients, Owen L., expressed his appreciation for the scholarship: "Thank you so much for selecting me for your 2021 scholarship. I am honored to be one of the recipients and this scholarship has made a huge difference for affording college. Again, thank you so much and have an amazing summer." Owen will be attending Macalester College in the fall.

2.17.21TruStone Foundation Donates $100,000 to Support Racial Equity and Inclusivity

PLYMOUTH, Minn. (Feb. 17, 2021) — The TruStone Financial Foundation recently donated a total of $100,000 to three non-profit organizations as part of its Racial Equity and Inclusivity Grant. The donations that made up this grant consisted of $42,500 each to The Sanneh Foundation and Bolder Options, and $15,000 to the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation.

12.23.20TruStone Financial Donates Nearly 1,000 Toys and $1,750 for Holidays

PLYMOUTH, Minn. (Dec. 23, 2020) - TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union, the TruStone Financial Foundation and TruStone Home Mortgage recently donated nearly 1,000 toys and $1,750 to charity for the holidays. Donations of new, unwrapped toys as well as cash were gathered at the credit union’s branches and corporate center in Plymouth, MN. Donations collected in Minnesota were given to Toys for Tots, and donations collected in Wisconsin were given to the Salvation Army’s toy drive.

11.3.20TruStone Financial Donates 1,700 Pounds of Food and $2,000 to Second Harvest Heartland

PLYMOUTH, Minn. (Nov. 3, 2020) —TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union used its participation in CU Forward Day, a day of volunteering celebrated by Midwest credit unions, to support people facing hunger during the pandemic. TruStone collected food and monetary donations for Minnesota-based hunger relief organization Second Harvest Heartland. In all, the credit union's employees and members, along with the TruStone Financial Foundation, donated 1,700 pounds of food and $2,000 to the organization.
