TRUSTONE FOUNDATION PROGRAMS
More than 80 years ago, TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union opened its doors thanks to the dedication of eight Minneapolis teachers. Throughout the years, the credit union has always provided its members and the communities it serves with financial education opportunities.
Financial literacy is vital to making thoughtful and informed decisions. The Foundation partners with TruStone Financial staff to teach financial education courses in classrooms throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin that cover a variety of topics that are tailored to the age and audience.
The Foundation also partners with other financial literacy organizations such as Junior Achievement of the Upper Midwest which provides relevant, fundamental learning opportunities for students in grade K-12, preparing them for a lifetime of financial success.
Top-notch students from high schools in Minnesota and Wisconsin are awarded a minimum of $10,000 in scholarships each year from the TruStone Financial Foundation. Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors based on merit and academic performance, student involvement and the satisfactory completion of an essay question. An additional $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a family member of a TruStone Financial employee.
